This is a Javanese dish. It is usually called soto ajam (ayam). Soto means soup and ajam means chicken. Kokki Djawa boemboe (spice mix) soto consists of a dozen spices. The kunjit (turmeric) gives the soup a beautiful yellow colour. It is also called an Indonesian meal soup. First, you put the rice, egg, celery and bean sprouts on a plate. Then pour the soup on top. With fried onions (bawang goreng) and sambal, the meal is ready.
